Prof. Errol D’Souza
Ph.D. (JNU)
Errol D’Souza is a Professor of Economics and the Director at the Indian Institute of
Management Ahmedabad.

Errol studied Economics and Statistics at the University of Mumbai where he was
awarded the Kashinath Trimbak Telang gold medal for obtaining the first rank in his
M.A. (Economics) degree. He obtained his Ph.D. as a University Grants Commission
National Research Fellow from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

He has held appointments such as the IFCI Chair Professor at the University of
Mumbai, India Chair Professor at the University Sciences Po in Paris, as a Visiting
Professor of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla, as an Honorary Senior
Fellow of the Institute of South Asian Studies at the National University of Singapore, a
Visiting Scholar at Columbia University, and as a Visiting Professor at the Turin School
of Development of the ILO. He has worked on academic committees of the University
Grants Commission and the Indian Council of Social Science Research, and has been
associated with the Planning Commission of India and the Reserve Bank of India in
various capacities, including as a Member, Technical Advisory Committee on Monetary
Policy. He is on the Academic Council of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, the
Institute for Human Development, Delhi, and on the Advisory Board of the International
Centre for Development and Decent Work at Kassel, Germany. He was a Director of the
National Housing Bank and is currently on the Board of Governors of the National
Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi, the Rajasthan Shram Sarathi
Association, Udaipur, and the India Gold Policy Centre.

He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Quantitative Economics (Springer), the
Indian Journal of Labour Economics (Springer), and Macroeconomics and Finance in
Emerging Market Economies (Taylor & Francis). He is engaged in research in the areas
of macroeconomics, development finance and public policy.

Sri Tatwamasi Dixit is a Family Business Advisor, Mentor and Coach and the Founder of FABRIC
(Family Business Research International Centre), a boutique consulting firm that offers Advisory, Mentoring
and Coaching services to Families in Business.
Shri Dixit believes that the four tenets of Purusharthas viz. Dharma (Values & Culture), Artha (Resource),
Kaama (Aspirations & Desires) and Moksha (Salvation & Self Actualisation), seamlessly integrate and form
the basis of a Family Business System. He emphasizes that the foundation of any successful family business
is a successful family. His ability to integrate Vedic principles and modern management principles combined

Sri Dixit was conferred the prestigious ‘Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman’ in 2006-2007 from the then
President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, for his work on the ‘Synergy between Modernity and Tradition.’
Sri Dixit has been working extensively and very closely with Mr. Peter Leach, a leading Family Business
Advisor in the UK, with whom he has also co-authored a book, titled – ‘Indian Family Business Mantras.’
He has also been professionally associated with other internationally renowned Management Experts,
Dr. Marshall Goldsmith and Dr. Ram Charan.

Aditya V Agarwal is a man who always sees life in a positive light and believes in confronting challenges head-on. Being one of the eldest scions of the Emami family, Aditya has witnessed the growth of the company from its humble beginning to it being one of the leading FMCG companies in India today. He has imbibed the drive and passion from the Founders of the Company which is required to grow a company from strength to strength. He has exemplary innovision and is capable of turning around businesses with his determination and vision. At a young age he has made an indelible imprint in running a corporate conglomerate and can be a fountain of inspiration to any aspiring businessman. Being extremely versatile and an expert at PR and man management, Aditya heads the cement, edible oil and bio-diesel and paper manufacturing businesses of the Group. Aditya is the immediate Past President of Indian Chamber of Commerce – one of the leading business chambers of the country. He is also the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Ethiopia in Kolkata.

Manish Goenka, holds an MBA degree from Cardiff University, UK and is involved in many multifarious operations of the Group, such as edible oil, paper, healthcare and cement. With his sharp business acumen and vision as well as the vast experience gained from the Group’s FMCG business, Manish has spearheaded the edible oil arm of the Group for it to become one of the front-running edible oil companies in India within just 5 years of its inception. He is also spearheading the Group’s cement business which has an integrated cement plant in Chattisgarh with two split grinding units in West Bengal and Odisha with a total production capacity of 8 million tons per annum. A natural leader, Manish has been an active member of the Bio-Diesel Committee of CII and was conferred with the prestigious award like Globoil Man of the Year Award 2011 for his contribution to the edible oil industry. He has also served as the President of Merchant Chamber of Commerce, a front running business chamber in Kolkata in the year 2015-16. Manish is a proud recipient of the Visionary Leader of the Year Award by Times’ Men’s Award for the year 2018.

Rahul leads all strategic and corporate initiatives globally, leading to the long-term
growth, profitability and industry leadership of the organization. He has over 28 years
of professional experience and has held several progressively senior and leadership
positions.
He has been the Chief Architect for re-positioning and transforming Datamatics from
a service led organization to a solutions organization focused on enhancing business
productivity through smart automation of data driven processes. Rahul is responsible
for driving the company’s strategic process to identify, evaluate and integrate organic
and inorganic business growth options, including mergers & acquisitions,
partnerships and alliances. He has also been driving the company’s foray into new
geographies, and the company’s digital growth strategy.
Recognizing his contribution, in the year 2014 he was presented with ‘CEO of the
Year Award’ for his exemplary leadership amongst organizations from across 41
Asian countries. Rahul serves as the Chairman for the Western Region of ESC
(Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council, Government of
India’s largest Electronics and IT trade facilitation organization), and Chairman of
NASSCOM’s Regional Council. Rahul also serves on the Advisory Board of
Columbia University’s India Business Initiative (New York), the Client Advisory Board
of Citi Commercial Bank Asia (Hong Kong) and Director at the Safari Industries.
Rahul holds an MBA degree from Columbia University (USA), with a major in
Business Strategy & Marketing and a minor in Mergers & Acquisition and
Turnaround Management. He has 2 Bachelor degrees from H. R. College (India),
with specialization in Finance & Accounting, and Babson College (USA), with
specialization in Management Information Systems.

Mr. Pankaj Patel is the Chairman of Zydus Cadila, an innovation-driven, global healthcare company with operations in more than 50 countries worldwide.  The group has a team of nearly 23,000 people worldwide creating healthier communities globally. With an experience spanning over 40 years in the Indian pharmaceutical industry, Mr. Patel combines both research and techno-commercial expertise. He has published over 100 research papers in peer reviewed journals and is a co-inventor in more than 64 patents.  

 

Mr. Pankaj Patel has been the guiding force behind Zydus’ fast tracked growth. The Zydus group bagged the India Pharma Overall Excellence Award and India Pharma Innovation of the Year Award from the Govt. of India. The group also won the CII Industrial Innnovation Grand Jury Award of being the Most Innovative Company of the Year and  declared the most Innovative Pharmaceutical Company by Thomsun Reuters. Zydus Cadila aims to be a leading global healthcare provider with a robust product pipeline and be a research-based pharmaceutical company by 2020.

 

In recognition of his contributions to the healthcare industry in India, Mr. Pankaj Patel was conferred the Leadership in Drug discovery and development Award from the South Asian Chapter of American College of Clinical Pharmacology, the Acharya PC Ray Memorial Gold Medal Award and the Eminent Pharmacist Award. In January 2014, Mr. Patel was conferred the India Innovator Award 2013 at the India Business Leaders Awards instituted by CNBC. For his entrepreneurial vision, Mr. Patel was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Life Sciences category.

 

With a firm belief that the right approach to education makes all the difference in shaping future citizens and professionals in a country, Mr. Pankaj Patel is actively involved in various educational institutions and is on the advisory committees and academic councils of several educational institutions.

 

Mr. Patel is an immediate Past President of Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). He has been nominated as a Member of the Mission Steering Group (MSG), the highest policy making and steering body constituted under National Health Mission (NHM) and of the Drug Technical Advisory Board by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Mr. Patel has also been nominated on the reconstituted Court of the Indian Institute of Science for the period 2018-2021. He is an Independent Director on the Boards of GRUH Finance Ltd., Torrent Power Ltd., and Nirma Ltd., and the Chairman of the Board of Bayer Crop Science.  He is also a Member on the Board of Management at The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT).

 

He is a Member of the Board of Governers of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Governers and Society, IIM, Udaipur and  IIT, Bhubaneswar.

 

Mr. Patel is currently on the Governing Board of The Ahmedabad University and the Chairman of  the School of Life Sciences, Ahmedabad University. He is also a Member of the Board of Management of the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and a Member on the Governing Board of the Gujarat Law Society, Nirma University and the Anant National University, Ahmedabad.

 

Mr. Pankaj Patel is the Executive Chairman, Vice President and Trustee of the Gujarat Cancer Society and Chairman of the Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute, a Regional Cancer Centre and one of the largest cancer centres of India, reaching out to the needy and underprivileged cancer patients. He also officiates as the Chairman of the Deaf and Mute School, Ahmedabad.

Ashank is the Founder and Former Chairman of Mastek Ltd. Now Mastek and the sister
company Majesco together are $ 250 – million, publicly-held IT players with global operations
providing Enterprise Solutions to Government, Health, Retail,, Banking and Software Products
for Life and Non-life Insurance organizations in North America, Europe, UK, Canada, the
Middle East and the Asia Pacific region. He also guides Mastek Foundation, whose mission is to
enable “Informed Giving and Responsible Receiving”.

Mr. Desai is widely recognized as an industry veteran and is one of the founder members & Past
Chairman of NASSCOM. He was a former President of Asian Oceanian Computing Industry
Organisation (ASOCIO), an Association of 20 countries in this region. He also serves on the
Advisory Boards of SJM School of Management, and as Vice-Chairman, Society for
Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) at his alma mater IIT Bombay.

Mr. Desai is actively involved in the field of education, and is a Member of Governing Board
of IIM Ahmedabad, a Member of Governing Board of Goa Institute of Management (GIM) for
the last 9 / 10 year, now President of GIM Society. Vice Chairman of Rashtriya Uchchatar
Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) for Goa Government. He is also the Vice Chairman, Governing Board
of Bombay First, an NGO working on the mission to make Mumbai a world class city.

Mr. Desai’s other public contributions include serving as Member of the Maharashtra State
Security Council. Founded and funded an NGO – Avanti Foundation which has trained for the
last 8 years 15 Thousand school girls, from low income groups, to become leaders. Founder
member & Co-Chairman at PanIIT Alumni Reach for India (PARFI). An 8-year-old Not-for-
Profit organization providing Vocational Training for enhancing the income levels of poor high-
school dropouts. He is involved in CII as Committee Member at the Regional as well as
National Level. He was earlier Member, International Team on Economic Reforms for the
President of Zambia.

Recently he has been felicitated by the Prime Minster Shri Narendra Modi for his contribution
to NASSCOM & IT Industry for the last 25 years. He has been conferred with the
“Distinguished Alumnus” Award from IIT Bombay and “Fellow of the Society” by
Computer Society of India (CSI) in recognition of his services to the Indian IT Industry as an
entrepreneur and for his contribution to the growth of education. He has also been presented with
the Honourable Contributors Award by ASOCIO – the only Indian to receive this recognition
twice. He was conferred with the much coveted Outstanding Entrepreneur Award at the Asia
Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards (APEA) 2010 India. Mr. Desai is a charter member of The
Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE).

A Financial Services professional with deep expertise in Family Office and the Investment Advisory space, Nitai leads the Investment Strategy and the Chairman’s Family Office for Hero MotoCorp Ltd.

One of the first set of professionals to have worked on Family Offices in India, Nitai started his journey with developing and executing the concept of Family Office for probably the first commercial launch of such services in the country.

As part of the Family Office offering, Nitai has founded and managed an exclusive team of portfolio analytics specialists, set up teams, policies, and processes for a pioneering boutique Multi Family Office firm and subsequently for two large, diverse, and global Single Family Offices.

Nitai holds a degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management. His interests and expertise lie in dealing with complex structural issues related to global wealth preservation and transmission and in implementing portfolio risk-reward optimization techniques.

He is a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Madras and has an MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Bombay and a PhD in Thyroid Physiology from the University of Bombay. He has over 35 years of experience in diagnostics Research and Business. After 15 years of experience in Thyroid Biochemisry Research at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre – BARC Mumbai, He started Thyrocare in 1995. Using a unique business model in a focused Biochemistry back end laboratory, he has built an organization which got listed in National Stock Exchange in May 2017, with a stellar oversubscription of 74 times. He is also MD of Nueclear Healthcare Limited, which is a Radiology vertical, that focuses on Cyclotrons and PETCT for diagnosing and monitoring in Oncology.

A seasoned entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience in the natural food and supplement ingredients space, Sanjaya provides strategic and financial oversight and guidance to our global teams. He was part of the founding team of OmniActive, and has helmed Kancor Ingredients since 1990. Before that he has been trained at Bombay Oil Industries, Marico and other Mariwala family companies.

Sanjaya’s numerous professional and industrial affiliations include the India Pepper & Spice Trade Association, All India Spices Exporters Forum, Confederation of Indian Industry, Indian Merchant’s Chamber, TIE-The Indus Entrepreneurs and FICCI.

He holds a degree in tax management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, and has completed executive training programs at the Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad) and Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Abhishek Mangal Prabhat Lodha is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lodha Company. He holds a master’s degree in science (industrial and systems engineering (supply chain & logistics)) from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, United States.

He was appointed as the Managing Director of our Company with effect from March 9, 2016 and was reappointed as ‘Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer’ with effect from March 1, 2018. He has 16 years of experience in strategy, design, project management, construction, corporate planning, legal and brand communication. Prior to joining our Company, he was working as a business analyst with McKinsey & Company, Atlanta, United States. He was awarded the NDTV Property Award 2017 in the category of “Emerging Star of Real Estate”

A Bachelor in Engineering (Electronics & Communication) from Delhi University and an MBA (Marketing and Finance) from Wake Forest University, North Carolina, USA, Shri Ameet Kumar Gupta is an ardent member of the Promoter Group and is actively involved in new business development activities along with Shri Anil Rai Gupta. He is authorized to make new product introduction and development along with setting up of new plants and manufacturing facilities for the QRG group. Gupta’s functions include spearheading new projects being under taken by the organization.

Mr. Aboobaker, Managing Director, Amicorp Trustees (India) Pvt. Ltd., has over 14 years’
experience in telecom, private client wealth structuring, private banking, estate &
succession planning and trusteeship services.
He joined Amicorp in December 2011 and took on the challenge of building the nascent
Trusteeship business backed by his vast experience and expertise with strong focus on
restructuring, innovation and expansion to set up the Estate Planning vertical for Amicorp
in India.
Tariq has assisted multiple large families, business houses and high network individuals
having wealth across various asset classes and complex business structures with their
succession planning and asset protection needs keeping in mind various tax laws, estate
duties, inheritance laws and other succession laws across countries. This could be NRI
families with wealth across geographies, or Indian families with NRI beneficiaries.
He has successfully created and executed ‘Wills’ for smooth transmission of large estates
to the legal heirs, has a strong understanding of the succession laws for each class of assets,
for various religious groups in India, divorce and inter-caste marriage cases.
For individuals desiring to bequeath a portion of their wealth to philanthropy, he has
established charitable trusts and foundations, which has been operating successfully, thus
transforming their vision into reality.

Tariq has participated in family settlements and facilitated arbitration. He was awarded
“40 under 40” as a trust expert in the industry.
Along with Estate and Succession planning and Family Trust formation he also carries a
good understanding on different trust structures like AIF, REIT, etc.
He has been successfully running Amicorp for six years. He carries the expertise of setting
up new ventures and has been instrumental in setting up Estate Planning Services for
Centurion Bank and HDFC Bank post its acquisition of Centurion Bank.

Prior to moving to the banking industry, he has spent a considerable amount of his working
career in the Telecom Space. Providing committed customer satisfaction and building
enduring associations with customers and vendors with strong team motivation and
innovative ideas.
Tariq fluently speaks multiple languages like English, Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati.

Satya is the Chief Executive Officer of the Private Clients business of Barclays in India. He joined
Barclays in 2007. Satya started his career in project and corporate finance in India and has
worked in numerous functions including finance, sales, marketing, product development and
technology and investment analysis in the past 25 years.

Prior to joining Barclays, he was Head of Private Banking in the South East Asia region for ICICI
Bank in Singapore. Satya holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Rajasthan in
India and is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India. He has
completed Advance Management Program from Harvard Business School.

Satya is a charter member of TiE and various other angel networks and an angel investor, having
helped more than 20 start-ups across industries both in India and overseas, with focus on social
impact investing. He is involved with various community initiatives and NGO’s including the
Rotary Club of Mumbai.

Prasad Kumar is the founder of Human Endeavour, a boutique advisory firm for Family Business and Owner Managed Companies. He is also currently member of the Governing Council of Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology.

Till recently, he was Business Chairman and member of the Group Holding Board of the GMR Group; Vice- Chairman and Managing Director of Parampara Institute of Family Business and Chairman of RAXA, the GMR owned homeland security company.

His career spans 46 years, covering a width of senior corporate roles in leading Indian companies – Madura Coats, CMC Limited, WIPRO, Thermax Limited and GMR Group. For a significant part of his career, he has been involved in long term partnerships with several companies in a consulting role – Kotak Mahindra, KPMG, Amarchand Mangaldas, Murugappa Group, GMR Group, Ramoji Rao Group, Marico, Oberoi Hotels, Apollo Hospitals, Thermax Limited, Kirloskar Oil Engines, Crompton Greaves, Hindustan Times, RMZ Group, Motorola, Texas Instruments, Microland and a few others.

An alumni of XLRI, he rounded off his management education with Manchester University UK. He is an accredited facilitator of the Indian Society of Applied Behavioural Sciences and a Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF) of The International Association of Facilitators (for three year tenure). A Life Member of International Association of Facilitators, he has also been Executive in Residence at the Kellogg School of Management, NW University, Chicago, USA.
